Low Fat Vs. Low Carb
I'm not a dietician or a doctor.
I did lose 100 lbs. and have kept it off for at 10 years. I've also used both low fat and low carb plans to lose weight. I feel qualified to offer my two cents.
Low-carb beats low-fat hands down any day of the week in my in my book. Both ways are good for the actual weight loss part but when it comes to keeping it off, low carb is by far easier and more fun to maintain. Here are the top 3 reasons why:
1. Cravings. Everywhere I go, I talk to people about their eating and and over and over again they talk about cravings sabotaging their best efforts to feel good and weigh what they want to weigh. I know for a fact that when you eat more fat and less carbs, your cravings can diminish greatly and if you stick to a program of eating that includes lots of fat of all kinds, but especially plant fats, that is also very low carb, your cravings can disappear altogether. This can make you appear to be a very self-disciplined person around sugary treats (without feeling deprived).
2. You don't have to go without bread if you make my special flax bread that only takes 5 minutes of your time. It's grain free, gluten free, sugar free and very low in carbs. It's very high in omegas 3's as well as fiber. Sound like a dream? I was thinking about muffins one day and this recipe came to me suddenly. I wondered how it would taste. I ran to the kitchen excitedly and this is what I got. Not a muffin but a wonderful tasting and satisfying piece of bread. Read the recipe here for free. Enjoy!
3. Energy! There's no comparison in the amount of energy you'll get from sticking to a low-carb eating plan instead of a low-fat plan. Eat a ton of coconut oil for satiety and energy. You can put it in your coffee or your tea. You can add it to baked goods or you can make your own sweets with it. A decade of eating this delicious and under appreciated saturated fat has only caused my heart health to improve greatly.
If you want the two secret recipes that enabled me to lose weight rapidly and keep it off forever, my book is here. Included are the two recipes, food lists, a restaurant guide and a step-by-step plan to one of the easiest lifestyle changes for busy people ever. Soon, I'll have to raise the price significantly but for right now you can grab it for the introductory price of 2.99 kindle edition and 12.99 print.
With Energy and Joy!
