How Becoming a "Qualitarian" Changed My Relationship With Food Forever

Always do your best.

Don Miguel Ruiz

I've got to admit to having some pretty poor ideas about food in my lifetime of trying to get it right. Including the attitude where you beat yourself up every time you eat what you consider a "bad" food and then you just keep on eating it anyway.

Since my only goal, now, is inner peace, I'm not going to beat myself up about food anymore.

Now I try to eat organic meats in small quantities and organic non-starchy veggies freely, but always in balance with some protein and healthy fats. I eat tasty, rich and healthy food and I eat until I am just starting to get full.

I try to focus on quality and taste in my food as well as sticking with foods that actually fill me up and keep me energetic. I find joy! to be one the the easiest food that supplies that kind of energy. I work with little children every day so I need that kind of energy and I often need it on the go.

Now, when I think about food, I focus on what's good about it

instead of how it's going to hurt me. That's the difference in my relationship with food. Both the pictures are really me.
